A South Side man who set a fire that killed two people has been sentenced to spend the rest of his natural life in prison.
Michael Harper, 30, of 1414 W. 67th St., was sentenced Tuesday after being found guilty July 22 of aggravated arson and first-degree murder. Harper, with two accomplices, set fire to a strip of stores in the 400 block of East 63rd Street on May 28, 1988, that killed Kiert Phophariat, 50, and Pismai Panichkarn, 29, who owned and slept in a back room of a restaurant on the site.
