Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

There is a distinct buzz in the hallways of local high schools as everyone from the lowest freshman to the loftiest senior muses, “Can I still get an entry in for the Tribune’s sixth High School Movie Panel contest?” Sorry, the answer is no.

The deadline has passed. Any entries that were not received in our office by Wednesday will not be considered.

But we do wish to thank the hundreds of teens who did respond.

Right now, our editors are still reading the entries. When they are done, 20 finalists will be selected and invited to a screening in downtown Chicago on Oct. 15. Then it’s back to the Tribune Tower and the finalists will have two hours to write an approximately 200-word review of the movie they have just seen. From this rigorous testing procedure, the three members of the 1994-95 High School Movie Panel will emerge.

The Friday section will present the 20 finalists in the Oct. 21 issue. The winners will be announced in the Oct. 28 issue.
