Radio talk show host Sonny Bloch was arrested by police in the Dominican Republic and will be returned to New Jersey to face criminal charges that he conspired to defraud his listeners out of $21 million, lawyers said Friday. Bloch is being investigated by federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York and may soon be indicted on tax charges, his lawyers said. Bloch, one of the nation’s longest-running financial radio talk show hosts, was indicted last week by a Newark federal grand jury for allegedly luring his listeners into investing in wireless-cable ventures without disclosing that he was being paid to endorse the operations.
