This summer’s heat has been particularly hard on the members of the Ft. Sheridan Redevelopment Commission.
That’s because the air-conditioning system in Building 47 at the historic fort has been on the fritz. No matter how hard they try, maintenance workers can’t get the aged cooling unit to perform. So instead of sweltering when it meets this week, the 8-member commission will gather in Lake Forest’s Fire Station No. 2, at 1111 Telegraph Rd., starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The commission comprises representatives of Lake Forest, Highwood, Highland Park and Lake County.
