A Schaumburg man pleaded guilty Monday to the armed robbery of an Itasca gasoline station in May 1994.

Troy Lee is eligible for a maximum of 30 years in prison. The minimum penalty is 6 years.

Authorities have alleged that Lee and Gus Demos, also of Schaumburg, walked into the service station at 9:30 p.m. on May 14, 1994, brandishing handguns and wearing ski masks. After ordering the station attendant to lie on the floor, they robbed the business of $290 in cash, 14 cartons of cigarettes and a number of Illinois lottery tickets, according to court testimony in Wheaton.

Both remain in DuPage County Jail. Demos’ trial is set for Sept. 25.
