That’s entertainment: It’s not just the show on the screen that’s bringing raves from the crowds at Elgin Fox Theatre.
On weekend evenings, three ushers entertain waiting patrons by singing a song they composed, “Ditty of the Elgin Fox Theatre.”
The trio–Matt Anderson, 18, of St. Charles; Chad Christensen, 18, of Burlington; and Justin Varava, 17, of Elgin–came up with the idea to entertain people waiting for the movie to begin. “We were just as bored as they were,” Varava said.
Unfortunately, the three are playing a limited engagement, as they will be going off to college later this month.
“We hope that someone will continue to carry the torch,” Varava said.
