Police charged three Chicago men with felony theft in connection with the theft of expensive scrap metal parts from a fenced area at Liquid Controls Corp., 105 Albrecht Drive. Charged were Pedro Gallardo, 26, Raymondo Aguilar-Tapia, 32, and Jose Perez, 23, all of 1644 W. Morse Ave., according to police reports. While responding to a burglar alarm Saturday night at the company, a patrol officer said he saw the three men in a pickup truck driving away. The officer stopped the vehicle, which was carrying a large quantity of aluminum parts taken from the company, police said. When questioned by police, Gallardo allegedly said he and the others drive around the suburbs looking for scrap metal they can sell. The exact value of the metal was not available. The men also were charged with criminal trespass to property, police said.
