The Village Board continues to press forward with construction of its west side park, approving the expenditure of more than $62,000 for park projects and keeping close to a schedule that would have the 7-acre facility open by year’s end.
The largest award–for a concessions stand and restroom facility–went to Tonyan Builders of Crystal Lake. It was the lowest bidder of three at $46,548. The board recently dropped plans to construct two announcer stands, estimated at $8,000 each, because of cost overruns.
The park is on Milwaukee Avenue, near Richmond Grade School. Its development is partially funded by a $111,500 Illinois Department of Natural Resources grant.
