A 40-year-old local resident was charged with harassment by telephone for calling a woman he did not know and telling her he loves her, police said. Timothy Steffey of 331 Grandby Rd., was arrested Monday at his home after he called the Lake Forest woman and she notified police when his phone number appeared on her caller ID device, according to police. While placing Steffey under arrest on the harassment charge, a patrol officer found a shotgun in the suspect’s bedroom, police said. Steffey also was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm without an Illinois firearm owner’s identification card, police said.
