-The Continuing Education program will conduct registration for English as a Second Language classes from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 3 to 5 in Highland Park High School, 433 Vine Ave. The following classes will be offered: Spanish literacy; English literacy; beginning, intermediate, advanced English as a Second Language; advanced vocabulary and reading; advanced conversation and writing; adult basic education; GED; and citizenship preparation. Lake Bluff, Dist. 65
– Lisa A. Lawler has been hired as the district’s new director of business services. Lawler will be responsible for all financial, budgetary, investment, transportation and custodial/maintenance services in the district.
Libertyville, Dist. 70
– A dedication of the new playground at Copeland Manor School will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at 801 S. 7th Ave.
– The district will hold curriculum night at 7 p.m. Sept. 5 in Adler, Butterfield and Rockland Schools.
Mundelein, Dist. 79
