Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co. of Japan and South Korea-based Sewon America Inc. pleaded guilty in federal court in Chicago to conspiring with Archer Daniels Midland Co. to fix lysine prices. The court rejected a no-contest plea by a third firm, Ajinomoto Co. of Japan. The company has a month to decide whether to plead guilty or go to trial. Kyowa faces a $10 million fine. Sewon’s fine still must be determined.
