Police are giving away trigger locks to prevent guns from accidentally firing while in the hands of children.
“Children will find a weapon if there’s one in the house,” said Inspector Ella Bully.
The department’s 3rd Precinct and Core City Neighborhoods Inc. gave out 100 trigger locks Saturday to anyone with a registered gun. The devices make it impossible to fire a gun without a key to remove the lock. More lock giveaways are planned.
