United Airlines is expected to send its latest contract proposal to leaders of the airline’s flight attendants union Tuesday, in preparation for a new round of negotiations in Hawaii next week. United’s 20,000-member Association of Flight Attendants narrowly rejected a tentative wage agreement last April. The union is seeking higher wages for the attendants even though their starting salary of about $17,000 is the highest in the industry.
