A 25-year-old Aurora man Monday was listed in good condition at Mercy Center for Health Care Services, two days after he ran into the Fox River and suffered hypothermia. Jose J. Urena of 128 S. LaSalle St., who was wanted on a LaSalle County warrant charging him with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, was driving when he was stopped by police on suspicion of an expired registration. Urena allegedly got out of the car, in the 100 block of South Woodlawn Avenue, ran down the embankment to the river and jumped in. He was swept away by the current and was rescued by the Aurora Fire Department, police said.
