Baseball

– Nick Gottschalk, Luther North: Struck out 34 in 20 innings, picking up three victories, while driving in seven runs with only six hits.

– Brian Nowakowski, St. Francis de Sales: Went 22 for 26, an .846 average, during eight games. Nowakowski had eight doubles and 10 runs batted in, while picking up two victories and striking out 23.

– Ivan Ramos, St. Benedict: Had 14 hits in 18 at-bats, drove home 11 runs, stole seven bases and earned a pitching victory with six strikeouts.

– J.J. Standring, St. Rita: Finished 8 for 10 with five doubles, two triples, 10 runs scored and nine RBIs in four victories. Standring added four stolen bases and an 11-strikeout, one-hit, complete-game shutout.

Softball

– Leah Santori, Crete-Monee: Knocked out two home runs and drove in six runs over four games, batting .563 during that stretch.

– Charlotte Westhoff, Immaculate Conception: Had nine hits in 14 at-bats, five going for extra bases, and stepped into the No. 1 pitcher’s position to capture three victories for the unbeaten Knights.

Girls soccer

– Veronica Peralta, Eisenhower: Scored 11 goals during four victories, leading the Cardinals to the championship of the Juarez/Amundsen tournament.

Boys volleyball

– Eric Quanbeck, New Trier: Finished with 48 kills, 26 digs and eight ace-serves to lead the Trevians to the Evanston tournament title.

– Dave Stuart, Naperville Central: The setter had 139 assists, 23 digs and five ace-serves to lead the Redhawks to the Hoffman Estates tournament championship.
