The District 12 Unit School Board has approved the purchase of a mobile classroom that will provide a little elbow room next fall for some of the 550 pupils enrolled in Bush Elementary School.
Satellite Shelters of Elmhurst was the lowest of four bidders at $51,095. The board also ordered two washrooms installed in the unit, adding $2,150 to the price.
Assistant Supt. Pat Bingman said the district also will pay nearly $9,000 to separate contractors for electrical, plumbing and sewer hookups at the new classroom site.
In other purchases, the board agreed to buy a Ford cargo van to replace one that is used for deliveries between schools. Buss Ford of McHenry was the lowest bidder at $15,200.
