Joseph Gerald Alden, 73, a former ink manufacturing executive in Arlington Heights, died Friday at his home in Inverness. Mr. Alden was the chief executive officer and founder of Alden & Ott Printing Inks Co. He was a a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include by his wife, Mary Catherine Alden; two daughters, Mary Catherine Osenbaugh and Jane Marie Hodgdon; four sons, Joseph, Thomas, John and Edward; a brother; a sister; and 11 grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Church, 2515 W. Palatine Rd. in Palatine.
