U.S. delays action on meat imports: The United States has postponed until April 30 threatened action against European Union meat imports to allow trans-Atlantic talks on veterinary inspection standards to continue, a European Commission spokesman said. The U.S. faces a self-imposed deadline for a deal to be reached with Brussels to end a three-year dispute. Washington had said that if no deal was reached by Tuesday it would remove more than 100 European meat and poultry plants from its approved exporters list.
