Firefighters at Elgin Fire Station No. 4, 555 S. McLean Blvd., extinguished a small fire that occurred in the grass outside the station late Monday evening, police said. The firefighters stomped the fire out. They told police they found a beer bottle filled with a substance that smelled of lighter fluid next to where the grass ignited.
