The Village Board unanimously approved the final plat of phases 1, 2 and 3 of Deerpath subdivision at a special meeting Wednesday night.

Partners of Madison Realty of Chicago and the board have worked together to annex and rezone the property.

The 178-acre parcel south of Wondermere Road forms the new western boundary. It is currently farmland. Dave Galowich of Madison Realty said construction will begin as soon as possible.

Phases 1, 2 and 3 of the project are in the north section of the L-shaped parcel. The project covers about a third of the land and calls for 54 single-family homes and a 3-acre park.

Madison Realty also is working with Woodstock School District 200 to build a baseball field at nearby Greenwood School, which many Wonder Lake children attend.
