Schawk Inc. said net income rose 19 percent, to $1.89 million, or 8 cents per share, from $1.59 million, or 7 cents per share, a year earlier. Last year’s quarter included a $107,000 tax credit and $587,000, or 3 cents per share, in net income from the discontinued operations of its Plastics Group, which was sold during the most recent quarter. The Des Plaines-based supplier of technology services, digital art production and design services said net sales from continuing operations rose 36 percent, to $26.2 million from $19.3 million.
