The next chapter of Afrocentric Bookstore unfolds as it hosts a grand-opening celebration in its new location, 333 S. State St. Touted as the Loop’s first African-American-owned bookstore, Afrocentric has hosted book signings for such literary heavy hitters as Colin Powell, Terry McMillan, E. Lynn Harris, Dr. Cornel West and attorney Johnnie L. Cochran. For Tuesday’s grand opening (10 a.m.-5 p.m.), Afrocentric will feature prizes, refreshments, discounts, and a special appearance by Earl G.
