Work by an undercover police officer posing as a Waubonsie Valley High School student led to the drug arrest of two Naperville teenage boys, Chief Larry L. Langston announced Friday.
The investigation, conducted at the high school that serves both Aurora and Naperville students, began to bear fruit April 9, when the officer was taken by a 15-year-old Waubonsie student to the home of a 16-year-old former Waubonsie student, police said.
At the home, the undercover officer bought four grams of marijuana, police said. Aurora police, with assistance from their counterparts in Naperville, returned to the home on Tuesday and searched the residence, finding 37 grams of marijuana, two grams of opium, drug paraphernalia and a pager, police said.
The 15-year-old boy was charged with possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver and was turned over to his parents. Police expect the DuPage County state’s attorney to authorize charges of cannabis possession with the intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance against the 16-year-old, who remains in the custody of his parents.
