Sales doubling: Chicago-based Amoco Corp. will more than double its chemicals sales in Europe to $2.5 billion by 2002, as it expands production capacity and builds new plants, the U.S. oil company’s chemicals chief said. Amoco Chemical, which had sales of $1 billion in Europe last year, plans to have invested about $1.5 billion in its manufacturing plants in Europe between 1995 and 2000, said Enrique Sosa, Amoco’s head of worldwide chemicals. “This is the largest chemical market in the world,” he said.
