A touch of Paris comes to Wheaton beginning Saturday when a French-style open-air market unfurls its canopies at Main and Liberty Streets.

In an agreement involving the city, the Downtown Business Association and the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, Bensidoun USA will operate the venture, which will feature a farmers market; vendors selling coffee, flowers and plants, bread, jewelry, crafts and artworks; and entertainment on the plaza at Main and Front Streets.

Some Wheaton shops will be represented as well, and about 50 sellers will be involved.

The French market will operate from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through the fall, said Bob Muzzarelli, manager of the downtown association.
