Police were searching for a 39-year-old man wanted for questioning in connection with a suspicious fire at his estranged wife’s home in the 0 to 100 block of Cardinal Lane, authorities said.
The fire, which destroyed a home occupied by the man’s 33-year-old wife and two children, ages 7 and 10, was reported about 12:20 a.m. Saturday, authorities said. All three occupants escaped without injury, they said.
Carpentersville Police Sgt. Richard Fetzer said the suspect, whose last known address was in Deerfield, allegedly had threatened to burn the house down.
