The Fox River Anglers will hold the Broken Oar Charity Bass Tournament Saturday to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The tournament, in its second year, will take place on the Fox River with launching at the Broken Oar Marina, 614 Rawson Bridge Rd. on the Fox River.

Tournament hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. After the weigh-in, a check will be presented to the charity.

Mary Ellen Golden, manager of the Broken Oar, said participation is up this year with about 35 boats, two people per boat.

Golden said, “It’s nice to turn an enjoyable pastime into something that helps others.”

Entry fees are $60 per boat, which includes ramp fees and prize money. The prize for the biggest bass caught is $800.
