Although I find many of Melissa Isaacson’s columns accurate, I have to wonder about her Bears report card (Tribune, Dec. 18). She grades a defense that ranked 15th in the NFL, a defense that allowed more points than any other in Bears history, one that allowed 55 points to the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day, as above average overall?
I know teachers are criticized for being too lenient, but this sets a new standard.
