Two residents were shot during the weekend in unrelated gang incidents, police said. On Saturday evening, a 15-year-old Elgin boy was shot twice in the buttocks while he and two of his friends were standing outside a Pizza Hut, 816 E. Chicago Ave. A man walked up to the group and fired several shots at the victim, two of which struck him, police reported. The suspect then fled east. In an apparently unrelated incident, a 21-year-old Elgin man was shot in the stomach while he was driving his car in the 100 block of Wilcox Street, police said. Several shots apparently were fired from a passing car at the victim’s car. Both victims were taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin, where they were listed Monday in fair condition.
