Timed for the spring due date of its new maternal and child health center, Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center will deliver increased services and support for high-risk pregnant women, thanks to $100,000 in private grants.
“These dollars ensure these women get the right care at the right time,” says Linda Miller, Sinai Health System vice president of care management.
Care managers at the hospital will help with counseling, housing, domestic-violence intervention and follow-up care once the mother has brought her baby home. A health educator will give mothers-to-be information on eating right, stopping smoking, planning for delivery and breast-feeding.
