Building soon will begin in the Prairie Commerce Centre of Johnsburg.
The Village Board agreed last week to change the zoning for the 22-acre property to include C1, which will allow the property to be developed for light industry.
Formerly known as the Hiller property, the land was annexed in December 1996. To date, sale of four of the 14 parcels is pending, which would bring a family-owned heating and air-conditioning company called Quality Comfort and a warehouse for locally owned Prem Magnetics Inc.
“I’m very excited and pleased by the board’s decision and I look forward to seeing the property begin development,” said Diane Calhoun, property manager for the Prairie Commerce Centre.
