Privately held Western Textile Co. said Hanes Cos., a division of Carthage, Mo.-based Leggett & Platt Inc.; New York-based P/Kaufmann Inc., and Covington Industries Inc., also of New York, have bought the assets of the 53-year-old Deerfield-based company. Hanes acquired Western’s lining business, while P/Kaufmann purchased Western’s print and woven fabric lines. Covington acquired a distribution center that Western owned in Spartanburg, S.C. Terms of the sale, handled by Chicago-based Dresner Investment Services, were withheld.
