Lisle trustees have approved a request from Lisle School District 202 to help build restrooms for the high school track.
Officials asked for $36,000 in hotel/motel tax funds, down from a $39,000 request that was denied two weeks ago. The approval came Monday night on a 4-2 vote.
Some trustees continued to question funding a bricks-and-mortar project, but others saw the need to continue attracting events operated by the United States Track and Field Association.
Ken Jakalski, the district athletic director, explained that without restrooms on-site, wheelchair athletes would have to cross a gravel road and parking lot to reach school facilities.
