Amateur birders ages 10 and older are invited to a free slide show, featuring tips on where to observe birds and what items to take along.
Offered by the McHenry County Conservation District, the March 30 audio-visual program “Birdwatching for Beginners” will acquaint novices with the color, size, shape and song characteristics of local species.
Held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wiedrich Education Center in Glacial Park, the session covers proper use of field guide books as quick identification tools.
“It’s a great way of getting outdoors,” says program coordinator Kim Caldwell.
