Colleges: Purdue baseball coach Steve Green has resigned, accepting blame for what he called an “outrageously regrettable accident” in which he struck one of his players. Green had been suspended indefinitely last week after the confrontation with sophomore pitcher Jeremy Ballard. Assistant Bob Shepherd will be the interim coach for the rest of the season.
