A 46-year-old man and his 19-year-old son were threatened Wednesday night by a group of bat-wielding men in a parking lot adjacent to their apartment building in the 800 block of Colonial Drive, police said. The two were walking home from a convenience store at 10:15 p.m. when the men drove up in about five vehicles, they said. An occupant of one of the vehicles allegedly shouted “shoot them” but the father and son escaped to the safety of their unit, police said. There was no indication of a motive for the alleged incident.
