Downers Grove North 7-12, Proviso East 4-0: Larry Rostis had three hits and scored two runs in Game 1, and Mike Osika allowed three hits and struck out five to complete the sweep for Downers North (5-5, 1-2 West Suburban Silver).
Downers Grove South 15-6, Glenbard West 4-7: Downers South (9-4, 3-1) used three hits, including a grand slam, by Ryan Liermann to cruise in Game 1 for the West Suburban victory.
Geneva 13-4, Batavia 7-3: Chris Aversa had two doubles among his three hits for Geneva (5-2, 4-0) in the opener. The Vikings completed the Suburban Prairie Red sweep behind John Maurovich, who struck out seven in Game 2.
Herscher 18-5, Streator 10-9: Herscher (13-2) won the opener behind Tim Marks’ 3-for-3 performance but had its winning streak snapped at 13 with the second-game loss. Streator is 4-3.
Hinsdale Central 7-4, Willowbrook 1-2: Hinsdale (10-3-1) improved to 2-3 in the West Suburban with the Game 1 victory. Mike Glosniak (3-0) won with a no-hitter and nine strikeouts. Kyle Cummings struck out nine and allowed five hits in Game 2.
Hinsdale South 7-3, York 4-2: Pat Kerrigan had three hits, including two homers, for Hinsdale South (10-2, 5-0) in the West Suburban opener. In Game 2, John Duplancich’s RBI single in the sixth was enough to give the Hornets a sweep over York (7-5, 0-4).
Joliet 9-10, Argo 0-0: Mike Rolih (4-1) struck out 12 in six innings to win Game 1 and Nick Hill scored three runs and drove in another two in Game 2 for Joliet (11-4).
Lockport 11, Joliet Catholic 5: Sam Shaw (1-1) pitched a one-hitter, struck out five with no walks for Lockport (7-4). Steve Rowe hit a three-run homer, Eric Blaeser a two-run homer and Vince Serafini added a two-run shot, his 10th homer of the season, for the victors.
Morris 9-16, Kaneland 0-4: Matt Curran had four hits on the day to lead Morris (8-2, 5-0) in the Suburban Prairie Red.
Naperville North 8-8, Lincoln-Way 1-1: Russ Bayer had four hits for the day with three RBIs, and Brett Honkin added four hits for Naperville North (7-3).
Providence 10, Gordon Tech 0: Ed Golom had a two-run homer to lead Providence (7-1, 4-0) in the Catholic League.
Rich South 5-9, Tinley Park 2-2: Andy Reinke had four hits and drove in two runs in Game 1, and Matt Bartling scattered six hits to improve to 3-0 in Game 2 for Rich South (7-3).
Waubonsie Valley 10-17, Streamwood 1-2: Scott Dudzinski had two hits and three RBIs in Game 1 and Billy Block had three hits and three RBIs in Game 2 for Waubonsie Valley (9-1, 4-0) in the Upstate Eight.
West Aurora 9, East Aurora 0: Kevin Presbery allowed just one hit and struck out six and Jarod Gutesha had a home run and four RBIs for West Aurora (5-2).
