A 20-year-old North Chicago man was charged with possession of cannabis early Tuesday. DeShawn Mitchell of 1925 Greenfield Ave. was arrested after being stopped by police on U.S. Highway 41 near Old Elm Road. Mitchell was also charged with driving with a suspended license, driving with a suspended registration, driving an uninsured vehicle and having a defective headlamp.
