Maine Township District 207’s educational foundation is borrowing a page from university donation tactics and creating a detailed roster of alumni.
The foundation, created in 1993 to counter the effects of tax caps, has set a 1998 fundraising goal of $20,000–about $3,000 higher than last year’s receipts, according to foundation chairman Jim Blue.
The foundation, with current assets of nearly $22,000, will concentrate more of its resources on district technology upgrades.
Blue said the district has about 92,000 alumni. The foundation will now try to locate the surviving graduates and invite them to support various projects.
