Village officials are expected to name Roselle’s new fire chief next month, according to Village Administrator Robin Weaver.
A selection committee that has been meeting regularly throughout the past month has reviewed 66 applications for the position and will be interviewing eight finalists this weekend, Weaver said.
“There were 23 candidates whose qualifications weren’t suitable and the committee picked eight of the remaining 43 applicants for interviews,” Weaver said.
The names of five finalists will be forwarded to the mayor, village clerk, and village board for final interviews.
Weaver said the new chief will be announced once background checks and required testing have been completed.
