A land planning firm has been hired to design a showplace park for Romeoville.
The Village Board awarded a $5,850 design contract to Landtech for the 12 1/2-acre Century Park.
The park will feature not only greenery and athletic fields, but also a nature center that will be financed by the developers of the High Point subdivision, recreation director Steve Gulden said.
The village will apply this summer for a $200,000 grant to fund development of the rest of the parkland, Gulden said.
The grant awards will be announced in the fall, he said.
