Kathryn D. Hoppe, 80, a longtime resident of Wheeling and a homemaker, died Friday in Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge. Mrs. Hoppe was a native of Chicago and a 13-year member of The Pavilion Senior Center, Wheeling. “She was one very special lady,” said Nancy Janssen, coordinator at The Pavilion. Survivors include four sons, Alex, Richard, Ron and Dennis; a daughter, Kathy Ernst; a sister, Helen Serafin; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Prayers will be said at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling, followed by mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 181 W. Dundee Rd., Wheeling.
