A 43-year-old woman has been convicted of obstructing justice for having a love affair with an accused killer while on serving the jury that acquitted him of murder.

She faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

Friday’s verdict concluded one of British Columbia’s strangest trials, marked by the unprecedented testimony of former jurors who spoke about normally secret deliberations.

Prosecutors said Gillian Guess fell in love with Peter Gill during his 1995 trial and disrupted the case by acquiring inside information and using it in the deliberations.
