Questionable nutrition lesson: Although doughnuts are considered the traditional cop breakfast, Gary Reed, owner of two Dunkin’ Donuts on Randall Road, one in Geneva and the other in Elgin, says he gets very few police officers who come in to munch the sweet treats.
Instead, the biggest buyers of doughnuts at his stores are, surprisingly, teachers.
“Teachers stop in on a regular basis,” he said, sometimes buying for their students, but more often than not, just for themselves. Schools are also the second biggest buyer of doughnuts in quantity, just behind churches.
