Crystal Creek will resemble a huge bathtub when hundreds of brightly colored plastic ducks are launched to raise funds for the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Jaycees.

The duck race will be a part of Algonquin’s annual Founders Day festival later this month.

Ducks will begin “shooting the rapids” in Towne Park at 1 p.m. July 25, shortly after the Founders Day Parade, said Jaycees Membership Vice President Alan Kirk.

The holder of the winning duck ticket will be awarded $200, with second through fifth place earning $100 each.

Tickets are available at $3 each or 4 for $10, and may be obtained at the Chamber of Commerce office or by calling 847-658-1643.
