Question: Our family is moving to Stockton, Calif. Do you have ideas to help our family make the transition?
– Carla, Oakland, Calif.
Dear Carla: Every summer, lots of kids move to another city and are faced with meeting new friends and finding out about what to do in their new town. Your letter started us thinking that the Web can help a lot. So we put together a Web page at www.4kids.org/askamy/coolmove.html that can help you and other kids. There are links to help find the city’s home page or to make a map of their neighborhood. You can see what the weather will be like, look for historic places, and try to find a key pal at your new school.
Question: If I put up my own home page, what kind of things should I put on it?
– Arnie, Pittsburgh
Dear Arnie: Start by putting up links to things that interest you. What kind of sports or music do you like? Do you have favorite Web sites? Think about your friends and relatives. What would they want to see? Pictures of a family event or even goofy pet pics are fun. To get ideas for your page, check out www.worldkids.net/kotw/ownpage.htm.
