Now that Glendale Heights trustees have toured the village’s 15 parks and put together a list of possible improvements, they have to figure out which improvements the village will undertake.

With about $436,000 to work with, members of the Parks and Recreation Committee Tuesday night began whittling down the list of amenities that parks will be getting this year.

Parks in all six of the representative districts will be improved, and every park in the village will likely get something, ranging from picnic tables and benches to playgrounds and shelters, officials said.

Among the items officials are interested in is a possible ice rink at Camera Park, the village’s largest. Officials said much of the playground equipment in many parks is in bad shape.

In budget discussions this summer, some trustees complained that parks in their districts were not getting amenities.
