Village Board members have agreed to loan the library system money in order to tide it over until property tax revenue arrives.

The line of credit, with a maximum of $375,000, was agreed to in principle at a meeting two weeks ago between Library Board members and village trustees.

Because of a delay in sending out county property tax bills, the library is not receiving the revenues it needs in order to operate. The loan, approved last week, will be available to the library as needed in $10,000 increments.

Village Trustee Pat Rea said the tax bills are expected to be sent out in about two weeks.
