A 41-year-old local man was treated for cuts to the forehead at Sherman Hospital and released Monday night after he was struck in the forehead with an ax allegedly by the boyfriend of a woman he allegedly had been flirting with, police said. Ray Sommer, 46, of the 100 block of Hinsdell Place, was charged with aggravated battery in connection with the alleged incident, which took place inside Sommer’s home, police said.
