The Harper College board of trustees has granted raises of 4.6 percent to college President Robert Breuder and other administrators.
Effective the start of fiscal 1999-2000, Breuder’s annual salary will go from $155,000 to $162,130. In addition, he will receive a one-year contract extension, two additional personal days off each year and $2,200 that can be used for additional insurance coverage.
With the contract extension, Breuder’s contract will expire June 30, 2003.
Board Chairman Richard Kolze said Breuder’s contract amendment was a vote of confidence despite the failure of a $124.8 million referendum issue last month.
Breuder is one of the highest-paid community college presidents in the area, Kolze said.
“He’s an extremely hard worker,” Kolze said. “He’s got a lot of good ideas.”
The board approved a salary adjustment of $172,739 to cover the administrators’ pay increases.
